World`s top nutritionist Prof. T. Colin Campbell speaks at our Summer Conference 2nd week!

Kushi Institute Newsletter, 01-06-2005

“The Science is clear. The results are unmistakable. Change your diet and dramatically reduce your risk of cancer, heart disease, diabetes and obesity.”

During the second week of our Summer Conference on August 3-5, world`s foremost nutritionist T. Colin Campbell, PhD conduct lectures on health and nutrition.

“By any measure, America`s health is failing. We spend far more, per capita, on health care than any other society in the world, and yet two-thirds of Americans are overweight, and more than 15 million Americans have diabetes. We fall prey to heart disease as often as we did thirty years ago. The War on Cancer, launched in the 1970s, has been a miserable failure. Half of all Americans have a health problem that requires taking a prescription drug every week, and more than 100 million Americans have high cholesterol.”

“To make matters worse, we are leading our youth down a path of disease earlier and earlier in their lives. One-third of the children in this country are overweight or at risk of becoming overweight. Our kids are increasingly falling prey to a form of diabetes that used to be seen only in adults, and children now take more prescription drugs than ever before.”

“These issues all come down to three things: breakfast, lunch and dinner.”

The China Study presents a clear and concise message of hope as it dispels a multitude of health myths and misinformation: if you want to be healthy, change your diet.

For more than forty years, Dr. T. Colin Campbell has been at the forefront of nutrition research. His legacy, the China Study, is the most comprehensive study of health and nutrition ever conducted. Dr. Campbell is Professor Emeritus of Nutritional Biochemistry at Cornell University. He has received more than seventy grant-years of peer-reviewed research funding and authored more than 300 research papers. The China Study was the culmination of a twenty-year partnership of Cornell University, Oxford University and the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine.

“The China Study is extraordinary helpful, superbly written and profoundly important. Dr. Campbell`s work is revolutionary in its implications and spectacular in its clarity.” - John Robbins, author Diet for a New America and The Food Revolution -

“The China Study quickly and easily dispenses with fad diets, relying on solid and convincing evidence. Clearly and beautifully written by one of the world`s most respected nutrition authorities, The China Study represents a major turning point in our understanding of health.” - Neal Barnard, MD, President Physician`s Committee for Responsible Medicine

Dr. T. Colin Campbell`s will be teaching August 2-5. His schedule and topics during the Summer Conference will be possible to download on www.macrobiotics.nl from June 17.

Dr. T. Colin Campbell`s book The China Study is available in our Deshima bookshop also during the Summer Conference or possible to order by our Deshima Mail-order service at deshima@macrobiotics.nl The China Study - hardcover 417 pages, 34,50 Euro ex. shipment.
